my wife and i are going to naples over the summer for a week - going down for a wedding in bonita springs and turning it into a vacation - we'll be in a beach house rental - while we're down there it'll be our 1yr anniversary so for people that know the area throw out some suggestions for things to do in general as well something special/unique for our anniversary - we need some things to do other than the beach all week

from my initial searches it looks like most of the things that are close by are in ft. meyers

some potential options i've found
Hi-Speed ferry out of either Marco Island or Fort Myers Beach that goes to Key West for the day
there's a vineyard in ft meyers that does wine tasting
a few marinas nearby to rent a boat / jet skis / do parasailing
Big M gaming yacht and casino

I like to get lunch in town on the main drag, sit outside, and watch the rolls, ferraris, lambos, maybachs, etc ride by

i went down there to Naples / Marco Island with my ex-gf's family not too long ago

All they wanted to to do was eat at a bunch of different restaurants

There was this one called True Lux or something that was damn good

I jet skied on Marco Island which was real fun

wasn't impressed with the beaches in Naples but def the ones on Marco Island

There may be a tour of the homes/gardens/etc. in Naples at that time-there's some huge houses there.

As far as the anniv., the first is paper... Maybe purchase a framed share of stock in a company that has meaning to the both of you?

Sanibel/Captiva Island.

Spend all of the time you can there. Great seafood restaraunt called the Muck Duck. The bartender's name is "cowboy". Cool fellow.

Does your wife like to write to friends and relatives?

I'd suggest a really nice stationery & Wax stamp set! It's so classic. Every girl needs some nice paper to write on Plus she may not have any official stationery with her new last name on it!!!

I like getting stuff from www.thestationerystudio.com

i should mention that we aren't doing the whole certain type of gift depending on what anniversary year it is - although i'm sure she'll change her mind when diamond comes around

Tickets are paper too, so a trip would conform to the traditional anniversary gifts.
