i've gotten my back done. i went to greenville and had a family friend take care of it. i have a large back (i'm 6'4", 270 lbs), and i could be in and out of each treatment in 45 minutes. I am happy with the results and it was free. 5/21/2008 2:45:01 PM |

there's a laser hair removal place called Ideal Image in the building i used to work in, and they were running a special, "pick 3 for $5000" i think you could do things like legs, underarms, and bikini area or other combinations. for just legs it was $2000 i think
everyone i've talked to that got it done said they're glad they did it.
http://www.idealimage.com/ i'm sure they have a location in raleigh

i have one more treatment left, b/c i had more growth. my girlfriend has had her bikini area and arm pits done and doesn't have to shave any more. Every six months or so, we see a hair or two, but can certainly take care of that easily. 5/21/2008 3:42:44 PM |

^x6: From what Dr. Mom has told me about that case, the firm's doctor who just oversaw everything had no biz prescribing what he did at the time... could've killed a horse, IIRC. Also, the place I go to now uses a type of "cool" laser technology that requires nothing pro-active for pain management, etc. So no worries there.
So here's my details, I'm loving it by the way, and would refer Erin Balis, the clinic manager, to ANYONE, anytime. At least 5 of my friends have been treated by her since, too.
anyone had it done? ME
opinions? It's awesome - I'm doing certain areas at a time (underarms and "extended bikini" now, more areas to be added later down the road)
where did you go? American Laser Center - Raleigh. On Creedmoor Road, just a few minutes north of Crabtree. http://www.AmericanLaser.com. PS - my friend who started her treatments here in Raleigh was able to transfer them to Baltimore when she moved after graduation. They have locations all over the place.
how much was it? I got a killer deal because of a business relationship, but I believe my package is worth over $2500
are you happy with the results? Extremely, I'm about half-way through all of my treatments and started noticing results after the first and second in a big way.
how long did it take for your treatments? I have two more sessions (each 6-8 weeks apart, I think), so less than a year total. Per session, not there for more than 30 minutes and each treatment area only takes a few minutes, at most, really.
where did you get it removed(what area) Underarms, "extended bikini" (which is more than a bikini, less than a brazillian which means you have NOTHING left down there ). Planning to do legs and possibly more in the future. I've debated eye brows, but from what I've been told, it's pointless to do them in NC b/c they can't laser under the eyebrow (only above), so you're only cutting out half the maintenance.
any other helpful comments are welcome Not that it matters for JT3bucky, but for any girls reading, just like the rule where you don't get waxed when you're PMSing or on your cycle b/c skin is more sensitive and more prone to being red afterward... same goes for lasering. Didn't hurt at all the first two or 3 treatments, but I went last week and was totally uncomfortable for about 30 seconds (post-treatment ice packs and lotion were a good cure).
If anyone wants Erin's contact info, please don't hesitate to ask. You are also MORE than welcome to reference me if you'd like.

anyone had it done? I have, I'm on my third treatment area now.
opinions? It's great, I would recommend it to anyone!
where did you go? I went to my dermatologist's office, Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center off of Lake Boone Trail.
how much was it? Depends on the area. My underarms are $80 per session. I'm having my 4th session next week and it could be the last one because the results have been so good.
are you happy with the results? Definitely!
how long did it take for your treatments? Well, when I had my arms done it took 7 treatments total because the hair is more fine. The courser the hair, the less treatment is takes. My arms were $275 per treatment. Like I said up there, underarms are $80 per treatment and it looks like I'll only need four treatments.
any other helpful comments are welcome It doesn't feel that great, but the sting subsides very quickly. My skin is kind of sensitive so the redness and swelling lasts a few days afterwards but that's normal they said. Make sure you shave the area just a day or two (depending on how fast your hair grows) before you go so the laser has some stubble to "find". I am thrilled with my results and would recommend it to anyone. It doesn't remove every single little hair permanently (esp on the arms) but I'd say I had a 80-85% reduction. 5/28/2008 8:59:11 AM |
