YPrPb component connection to watch TV.
Yeah bullshit, SA-8300HD and Toshiba 51H84 that I'm pretty sure would be HDCP compliant. 5/31/2008 7:51:16 PM |

What's really funny is that the one I had would let me use DVI... but only if I connected it after turning the device on and viewing it through the YPrPb connection first. That is, if I plugged the DVI cable in after it was already playing through the YPrPb connection it would let me play it through the DVI connection just fine. If I tried it any other way or reset the box, it would give me the "Your HDTV does not support HDCP" message. 5/31/2008 8:46:44 PM |

The latest TWC firmware made my box spit out this message too, it's total crap. It goes away after a few seconds, though. 5/31/2008 8:51:06 PM |

this is suddenlink.
same box, albeit no awesome proprietary firmware
HDMI worked on an LG LCD in our house just fine, but it will not handshake with this toshiba. Could it be a version conflict? From what I've googled, the SA-8300HD support for HDMI is flaky at best

I find if I turn the TV on, then the HDTV box, I never get this.
However, if I do the box than the TV, I get this message half of the time.

^yep
if the box doesn't receive hdcp auth from the device on the other end, it disables hdmi until it asks again (which is when you reset)
if your tv is off when it asks, it can't auth hdcp. 5/31/2008 10:38:39 PM |

Yeah, but the TV is always on first. I made sure of it.
The feed comes through for 2 seconds and then locks me out spitting copyright infringement issues at me. 5/31/2008 10:59:49 PM |

this tv is from 2k5, i'm thinking it's probably a version mismatch or the sd8300HD firmware i have is pitching a shitfit because it doesn't know what to do with it. It's def hdmi/dvi hdcp compliant though. I guess i'll just suck it up and continue using component and optical out.
Actually, if you saw my "LCD JUST BLEW UP " thread, it worked on my Sceptre 22" LCD monitor as well.
