I have a 1995 ZJ 6cyl and I need to replace the cat and muffler.

This is just a basic around town Jeep and I really do not need anything fancy.
I am looking for the cheapest setup I can get.

Can anyone recommend a place and does anyone have any idea at what would be reasonable for this?

give em a call and ask. my roomate and i both got custom exhausts, supplied the mufflers. mine was a smaller job, 40 bux, his was from the downpipe back with a flowmaster, 60 bucks. Their prices are very reasonable and they'll do whatever you want them to.

If you really want the old set up you can have it. The Cat and muffler sound like a can with marbles in them but they are yours if you want it.

keep your cat and muffler and take them to tt&e. you might cover the cost of your new stuff, or at least a good chunk of it. cats bring good money, i'm sure that's what that scheming asshole slowblack is after since he can't hold down a job.

It depends. If your vehicle is still equipped with the "OE" or original equipment catalytic converter, they do contain a fair quantity of precious metals (platinum, iridium, etc) and may be quite valuable. I regularly receive $80-$120 USD for large OE converters in good condition (not degraded, burned out or broken substrate).

Aftermarket converters contain less of these metals and are nowhere near as valuable as OE. In addition, if the substrate (the stuff inside the converter) is broken/rattling around, its value will also decline.

So, depending on the make/size/condition of your catalyst, it may range from worthless to $150 USD. Hope this helps ;-)"

^ & ^^ Thanks to both of you.

However- the cat sounds like it has marbles in it so I guess its not worth all that much. I do think it is the original stuff though.

Where it tt&e?
