I finally convinced my parents to get rid of their land line, my mom's only concern is that she might miss a very important call. I was looking online for solutions and found something called a Dock n' Talk (not made anymore). I was wondering if anyone had use this and what they thought of it, or if there were any comparable products. Any input would be great.

she doesn't want to carry a cell phone around the house

^So if an emergency comes she should just wait and let it go to voice mail and get back to an ill mother or work emergency later. you're the retard, not her.

does she not have a signal at her house? wouldnt the important call just go to her cell phone? or is she worried someone wouldn't have her new number, she could always setup call forwarding from her land line.

but why are you encouraging them to get rid of their land line? is money a problem? i understand encouraging them to use their cell phones more, but why encourage them to completely ditch the land line? if they don't mind the cost, a land line is helpful in the case of an emergency or if their cell phone ever dies or has a problem.

oh how did people get around without constant communication?

just tell her to turn the fucking ringer on the phone

you and your obstinate mother are making this more complicated than it needs to be

it sound like what you want to do is route calls to the cell phone to the house phone when she is at home? what phone does she have, she could just setup a profile that forwards calls to the home number instead of voicemail when not answered and use that profile when she is at home.

there is no home number. that's the point.
he wants something that will link the cell phone calls to the handsets that are already in the house. So, for example, his mom leaves her cell phone in one room (or docks it in one room), then she gets a call to the cell phone, and it will relay the call to all the other normal phones in the house.

wow, you missed it completely.

i've wondered about setting up something similar b/c i don't carry my cell phone around the house w/ me constantly, nor do i want to. since i live in a house and not an apartment no matter how loud the ringer is, if it's on one side of the house and i'm on the other, i'm not gonna hear it.

There is no phone number or landline to forward it to. I don't think it's possible.

^^There is a land line, just no active service through it

^I read somewhere about a merge made by someone else.^

Oh thats right because if her phone is charging in the basement and she in the attic cleaning she'll hear it.

No far from, but paying 25$ for something that only telemarketers call her on just isn't worth it anymore. She just wants the luxury of using a handset still.

there should be something more universal made IMO
