While this thread is still here, I have to agree with the first post. I think the flavors have a chance to ferment some in the time between the two meals that a Beansprout lunch special provides. And that being said, the trick to microwaving rice is to add a little water and then close the container lid.

That would be a tragedy.

I had some general tso's chicken yesterday for lunch. Yum! I can't wait to reheat it today for lunch again!

I certainly hope they are not closing! Best of the "cheap" Chinese places. Yes, Red Dragon (which is the name of the place on Fairview) or P.F. Chang's are better, but they're also much more expensive.

I would be very sad if Beansprout were to go away...

aye...it's not the best chinese i've ever had, but it's darn good (and the portions are large) for the price

It's good for what it is, and the people there are friendly and remember you if you come in often. I used to avoid it because it looked sketchy, but when I finally tried it I was hooked.

Orient Garden out in Cary/Morrisville is pretty good too. Their prices are a little higher and portions aren't as large, but the General Tso is ace.

I too would if the sprout closed.

I don't think the Beansprout is closing, I think that it is that Valentines Catering behind it.

^x8 General Tso is the best. Reheated for lunch today.

Oh yeah? I've only ever been for dinner, didn't know that. I'll have to hit it up sometime, since it's not too terribly far from campus.

Beansprout is down Hillsborough Street. IIRC it is almost across from Meredith...unless they moved.

It is still across from Meredith. Coming down Hillsborough toward the fairgrounds, it's past the Gorman/Faircloth intersection, on your left just after the Exxon station and before Royal Bakery. Beware, it is a small building and easy to miss.

Beansprout is a Chinese restaurant?

Always count on the Chinese to have original names.

Beansprout... that's a first.

Not Panda? Not Bamboo? Not Great Wall? Not Wok?

I've never craved food more than beansprout, but also never regretted eating anything more after I finish an entire plate and feel like shit.

beansprout is my absolute favorite Chinese place in Raleigh... PF Chang's SUCKS at kung po chicken...

I didn't find a place on par with Beansprout when I lived in Annapolis... I found a phenominal buffet in Lexington Mass. that's $15 at dinner that blows it away... but at 3x the cost.

I ate at New Yeah Shanghai Deluxe in Chinatown last night
its my second visit and I want to go again tonight

3 of us had two steamers of dumplings, a scallion pancake, chicken lo mein (with house made noodles!), and half of a crispy duck for $36 after tip
