Dude, this was seriously one of the worst movies I've ever seen. And I like action films where people get killed every 5 seconds too. But there is no logical progression to the plot and even if there was, the directing was terrible. Trying to follow 7 different groups of people with 2-3 minute clips of what's going on with them is just too scattered to be a good movie. I came into this movie with high expectations and was severely disappointed with every aspect of it.

Except it fucking sucked. Spinal Tap was a comedy. If this was a comedy it fucking failed again because I didn't laugh at all during it. It's just a bad movie.

if you viewed it as an action movie, then it was horrible. But if you viewed it as a black comedy/caricature basically making fun of mindless action movies by taking things to the extreme it was funny as shit

If you watch Spinal Tap expecting to see "serious insight into the mind of deep musical artists and the feelings that drive their music" then you will be like "wtf, this is horrible"

I viewed it as a shitty movie whether it's supposed to be taken as a comedy or an action. Defining a movie's genre does not change whether it was good or bad. A good movie will still be good and a bad movie will still be bad.

Spinal Tap was different because it was funny. I literally found nothing funny about Smokin Aces.
