hi, i'm going to wrightsville beach this weekend, anybody has any idea where can i find cheap/free parking? i know the parking meter spaces are 1.5$/h, but anybody has any idea when it'll be free? like before or after a specific time in each day? or any other parking suggestions? thanks in advance. 6/24/2008 10:21:52 AM |

Take 20 rolls of quarters and make change for people at a steep markup. 6/24/2008 10:27:20 AM |

I think sometimes you can find parking along one of the side streets before you get across the small bridge (right before you get to lumina ave.)
across from Surf City Surf Shop

sounds like you might not have enough money for the gas to get there. 6/24/2008 10:45:06 AM |

I parked before the bridge at a church that was offering parking for donations...
Should be able to find something around that area for free or at least for $5, and you walk across the bridge. 6/24/2008 10:55:57 AM |

yeah i remember when i was a sophmore in college we could park on the bay side for free. Now all the fucking tourists flood the beach and they had to enact ridiculous $1.50/hr parking fees on the whole island.
For awhile it was nice when i had buddies working at the holiday inn so i could park there for free. 6/24/2008 1:56:27 PM |

25 cent is 10 minutes at wrightsville beach. (on meters and parking accesses). Hopefully you can bring enough quarters.
A lot of people just park near the soccer field/basketball courts on your left, and walk down the loop and over the bridge.
I usually just dig through my change jar and pay. 6/24/2008 9:11:42 PM |

The church just past Surf City has always served me well. It's next to the parking enforcement office, ironically enough; right before the bridge b/t harbor island and the public docks. They request you not park there on Sunday mornings for obvious reasons, but beyond that you should be alright. Give the parking office the finger on the way by. 6/26/2008 3:30:08 PM |

Its not even about paying, its about finding a parking spot in general. I was lucky enough to have friends that lived on the beach and I could park in their driveways. I would have shot myself if the face if I had to search for parking every day. And I'm not lazy, but I'll be damned if I was going to park before the bridge and walk. 6/26/2008 6:43:56 PM |
