Supposedly, McCain and Cindy have a house in Cali that was back on taxes for 4 years, and about to default this year, that they just paid the back taxes on.

it is a pretty stupid argument to say that a SENATOR is trying to fuck the government out of 10K (which he did pay eventually) when said SENTATOR (and family) is worth over 100 Million.

Shit fucking happens. I have had a phone bill from a previous address not find me for a year. Doesn't mean I can't afford to pay the 100 bucks, but I typically don't pay till I'm billed...

From everything people here say, the rich get rich by saving their money, not luck or chance. You're foolish if you think rich people just like pissing away $10k at a time.

Secondly, the McCains were bound by law to keep their address accurate with the county, which really isn't that hard to do (and it's ONLY 1 of seven homes, not like 1 of 100 homes or anything). You were just irresponsible in not keeping up with your phone bill.

And thirdly, this issue doesn't really have any relevance to the level of McCain's patriotism. We can all speculate that maybe he DOESN'T actually hate the country on the basis that he's a filthy rich senator who ignores his taxes, but this issue has no relevance to that issue.

What's interesting is that people were calling foul play on Al Franken for fucking up his taxes (overpaying in some states, under paying in others) and claiming that if he can't figure out the tax law, then he shouldn't be a Senator.

McCain and his wife do it, they're apparently just too busy to be bothered with paying $10k for four years of back taxes.

all political views aside, property taxes are stupid as shit. They are supposed to pay for drainage and garbage collection etc. but instead of the cost being proportional to land area or amount of garbage collected it is based on property value.

My property taxes were paid late as fuck this year, right before going to collection.

You know what? They collected a fat ass late fee to go with it. (over 10% of the tax bill) Having that said I do not feel bad for paying late since I paid more than the rest of you.
