I have a HP IPAQ and I need to download some software. These are the instructions:
"Pocket PC users will have the option to install to a memory card when Active Sync prompts “Do you want to install to the default program location?” Simply choose no and select your storage card. Newer devices may prompt you to install to a card on the Pocket PC screen rather then the computer screen."
If I understand correctly, I will download the software to my computer, then activesync will transfer it my PDA right? Also, I thought a memory card was a storage card, so should I save it to my SD card or my PDA? 7/3/2008 10:55:35 AM |

it depends on how the software is distributed.
if it's a setup file that you can run on your pc, run it. it will tell activesync to install the software on your device the next time you sync. activesync will ask you whether you'd like to install it into main memory or the storage card.
if it's a cab file, copy it to your device and then run it from your device. it will install itself and ask you where you'd like to install it.
as to where to install it - it depends on the application. some can't be run from storage cards. 7/3/2008 11:27:47 AM |
