Haha, if you want to get hit by a vehicle while commuting down Avent Ferry and Western on a bicycle, you can commute by bike from here to downtown. Now, if you commute on the sidewalk and break the law, it's not so bad, but you'll probably get caught if ya do that every day.

Raleigh isn't a bike-friendly city yet, and overall its drivers treat cyclists with contempt.

i dont get why its illegal to bike on the sidewalk anyways...i assume they dont want you to because its so walkers dont get hit...but i dont feel that should make it illegal

imo, you should be able to ride on the sidewalk and if you hit someone, that person could sue

simple as that imo

and if cyclists rode on the sidewalks there wouldn't be such hostility to bikers

DING DING DING! We have a winner. I rode it downtown every day when I lived on Avent Ferry. It was a pretty nice ride.

That was back when I was a student and my job was with the university. I just wore shorts and a t-shirt.

Now that I have a real job, I bike to work once or twice a week. I bring clothes and a towel the day before.
