they fixed my road runner.... I think it fried my cable box though. Lightning hit the tree outside my apartment right next to the utility box.

where'd you see that page? do want!

and why are there so many unplanned outages exactly at 2am? i'm guessing it has something to do with the provisioning/dhcp servers

if you're looking for [consumer class] reliability in the raleigh area you wont find anything better than TWC

god i hope your wrong, cause so far they've sucked ass. they were late to install, they bricked my dvr when they upgraded to that sucky ass mystro (which for now Im stuck with) They have fucked up my internet on more than one occasion. And everytime i call technical support i end up knowing more about the problem and possible causes than they do. Sadly it's just not worth spending several weeks without service because customer support sucks.

Even their business service sucks, as our VP had to put a large amount of pressure on them to fix our internet outage in less than 6 hours. And in every case here it was due to their equipment failing in one way or the other. Honestly... they just suck.

Can someone call 866-4TWC-NOW and let me know if it works? I have been trying to call them off and on for two months and I just get a busy signal. That is the phone number listed on my bill.

I have noticed that if you go to their website they seem to have taken down all the phone numbers. Even if you go to the "Pay your bill" section and click "By Phone" it just flakes out and does not give you a phone number. http://www.timewarnercable.com/Carolinas/customer/bill_payment_options.html

The tech from their live chat crap said they have had "unusually high call volume." That's pretty pathetic if it really is that bad.

^^ i've had RR for the past 6 or 7 years and aside from a few quirks when it was first installed, it's been nothing but care-free for me. maybe a few times over those years have i ever had to call about the service being down or not performing as advertised.

Yeah well I will take into account that fact that I'm in an apt. but I would think that would warrant quicker service as it affects more people that a single home. and by the way that number^ is busy cause there's been like an hour wait time everytime you actually get through. I had to call 3 times in a row the last couple of times just to get the computer to pick up the call.

I also did the online chat help but i noticed that the people in the sales rep chat are the same people in the technical help chat.... not exactly a good omen.

first off i wasn't talking about their installation services, their IT support effectiveness, or their dvr/cable services/interface etc. you were talking about internet service reliability...and for that criteria, in this area, it doesn't get any better than TWC roadrunner.

granted im pretty good with technology and never have had to call their tech support...but their internet service is rock solid. I've had them for at least 5 years and have never gone that long without service. probably 24 hours max and maybe thats been once over the last 5 years

I hate twc as a company, but the reliability of their internet service is top notch.

^yeah I think that might be a difference because of where you live or something. Because mine has gone down for upgrades which I undersderstand, but the most recent loss of service and the length of the outtage is just bad business for anyone. I think that is another thing you missed or I just didnt state.. reliability means you should be able to rely on there service and their ability to fix there service when it is down.

I am a technology specialist myself, but I live in an apt. and can't exactly go play with the exterior wiring whenever something goes wrong (and the problem I was having was definitly exterior to my apt.). I have to rely on them.. which I pretty much can't.

Yeah, I was cut off by this. Nothing worked, I was kind of pissed. I didn't know the number for TWC tech support though, so I just decided to wait it out. My brother called me and told me what's up because I told him I had lost internet access, haha. Some shit...
