It's the same way with carrots, and to a lesser degree with broccoli. What gives?

When it's cooked to death, yeah not so much. But, um, cauliflower fried "rice"? OMG yummy.

i'll agree with carrots, but cauliflower and broccoli are awesome any way you eat it.

but they make your farts smell like death.

Well, off to hit the treadmill and lift for a bit.

This thread made me want cauliflower so badly I went ahead and paid for some. When I was at the store last time and got broccoli, it was $4/head.

Today, it was only $3

FYI, kroger brand frozen veggies - they have a cauliflower + cheese.

And it's 10/$10 until saturday.

I know - it's not the real thing.

Man, I have gone on a serious steamed broccoli/cauliflower/carrot kick lately.

I'd say that 4-7 times a week, it comprises over half of my lunch or dinner

Finally, a food addiction that is unequivocally good for me

Tastes like horse shit

I don't see how anyone could eat this stuff unless they had to choose between eating it or being sodomized with it

and even then its a close call

Sodomy by carrot: not that far out
sodomy by cauliflower: I suspect the tree would break apart under sphincter pressure; the stalks would essentially be dildos

I don't know why you chose the sodomy scenario. It wouldn't be that bad.

vegetable sex is where i draw the line. the only hole they`re going in is my mouth.

this is a good cauliflower recipe. even my husband, who ate more vegetables in the first 3 months we lived together than the rest of his life put together, liked it!

I was so angry with myself a couple weeks ago.

I was at a restaurant, and elected for pureed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes. Dumbass, if it's offered as a sub for mashed potatoes, it, too, will be full of butter and cream.

It ended up not mattering, as I was full long before I considered eating it, but it should have occurred to me to ask how it was prepared.

potatoes have a very high glycemic index- even if there isn`t a ton of butter and sour cream, the starch goes to your butt pretty much instantly, but only after spiking your blood sugar pretty high. cauliflower is pretty much water, and it does have some of the same antioxidants found in broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables. but mainly the diet reason.

Usually people overcook vegetables. Then they never eat them again.... Mushy veggies are the lose. (unless you're a baby)

my family eats lots of mushy veggies. string beans are usually mushy (but not too mushy and they are good, but not healthy). and the way they prepare squash is practically like baby food and i refuse to eat it. everything is pretty much cooked down with 389274829 lbs of butter, ham, sugar, and salt

it was years before i discovered i actually liked squash
