I want to play MGS4, but don't have any long-term PS3 intentions, don't see myself converting to Blu-Ray any time soon, and don't want to spend upwards of $400, 500 just to do so.

So, how can I do this?

What would it cost to buy a new or a used system, and then the game, and then what could I expect when selling both away secondhand?

Would it cost me ~150 bucks, all considered, to pull something like that off?

you're def. going to lose money with the ps3. the demand isnt as high as the wii, heck even now im sure you could buy the wii and play it for a month and just about break even, dont be surprised if you make a bit either.

They don't make 60 GB anymore, which in my opinion is the best one. I have one

MOODY: The 60 GB has full PS2/ PS1 BC.
Also are any of those controllers Dualshock 3? If so would you be interested in trading for my SixAxis + $$ for it?

The first generation ps3s, 20gb and 60gb both had the emotion engine from the ps2 installed inside the ps3. Full hardware backwards compatibilty. The current 80gig model has software emulation, bc sony wanted to reduce the cost of making the ps3. The 40gig version has no backwards combatibility at all. It's aslo worth mentioning that the 60gb has 4 usb ports and media card slots, while the other's have 2 usb drives and no card slots.
