Ok so i'm home for the summer in Charlotte doing an internship and i'm forced to use wireless with my desktop. I picked up a linksys WUSB54GC and have been having trouble with it for quite some time. Linksys is slack and doesn't have official vista 64 bit drivers for a lot of thier products so i had to find them in a linksys forum:

Basically what happens is sometimes it'll run perfectly and keep a steady download rate. Other times it'll go crazy and alternate between 850kB/sec(max bandwidth w/ TW) and zero just jumping all over the place. This happens with any download (speed test, newsgroups, windows update, etc). Then sometimes it'll just crash the driver after a few minutes of downloading and won't reconnect at all. It's like it freezes the driver. I have to reset my computer to get anything involving that wireless adapter to work again.

Recently i haven't been able to do anything because it just crashes the driver whenever something downloads for too long. Plus there's like ping spikes all the time which is odd. I think it's some combination of the driver and router but i have no idea. Just thought i'd post as a last try before going and buying a newer pci wireless adapter. I know i should have done this in the beginning but it usually doesn't give me this much trouble, and it's only for the summer.

-Could anyone recommend a good pci wireless adapter that they use with vista 64 and works w/o issues?

Problem sounds like that.

Well i'm pretty sure it's the driver because it keeps crashing. I'll try another wireless card and see if i have different results.
