7/16/2008 7:17:40 PM
dnl knows nothing of bbqcooper's can be wildly inconsistentbut ole time is mildly overpricedand the pit is not the kind of place i want to eat barbecue, though it's good barbecuei still maintain the sauce is sweeter than it was when mitchell's was open, but whatever
7/16/2008 7:18:49 PM
Harris Teeter. No joke, their BBQ is really good.
ok i'll give you that on the pit...its good ass bbq but it is like "too elegant" or something for bbq
7/16/2008 7:19:36 PM

^^^^ care to name any decent eastern-style bbq places in Raleigh?oh nm you already named some places. They're not as good as the places I named overall though. If you're willing to drive a bit you can get something good.[Edited on July 16, 2008 at 8:13 PM. Reason : .]
7/16/2008 8:12:09 PM
if it's memphis styleit suckseven if it's good memphis styleit's still memphis styleso it sucksi mean...red hot & blue? seriously? SERIOUSLY? cooper's has been open for more than 50 yearsit's fucking good ]
7/16/2008 8:13:59 PM

7/16/2008 8:14:41 PM
7/16/2008 8:14:58 PM

7/16/2008 8:16:59 PM
7/16/2008 8:17:20 PM
BBQ is expensive to make. It is not gonna be like a fucking .99 cheeseburger.
7/16/2008 8:18:53 PM
at ole time a sandwich, puppies, and tea runs $9-10 with a decent tipat cooper's, same meal plus fries (skins instead of puppies, but i never really liked cooper's puppies and the skins are AWESOME) runs $7 with the same tiplike i said...mildly overpriced
7/16/2008 8:19:02 PM
I've determined I can't find any good bbg east of GboroCook's in LexingtonCarter Bros in High Point is the best of the "fast food" type bbq joints
7/16/2008 8:19:08 PM
any Eastern style barbecue that is made west of Smithfield, besides Smithfields that i've tasted is no where near as good as east of Smithfield unless I made it myself.Saying that, before someone bursts a blood vessel, go to Smithfields.
7/16/2008 8:19:14 PM
the fact that you mentioned dickey's means that nothing you say has anything resembling credibilityand this is not a lexington/goldsboro thread
7/16/2008 8:20:28 PM
i love seeing vinylbandit get all worked up in these bbq threads
7/16/2008 8:22:10 PM
forgive me for wasting your time FAI756843, I did not grow up in Raleigh but was indeed raised close to where good BBQ is made. Please forgive me.
7/16/2008 8:22:25 PM
i wouldn't claim that anything in raleigh, aside from cooper's on a GREAT day, can compare with anything made starting 75 minutes to the eastwith that saiddude, seriously, you said dickey's
7/16/2008 8:23:44 PM
I mean, even if you don't like Memphis style BBQ, they still have the best selection of sides, about 4 other meats you can get that are freakin delicious, and free ice cream. Same with RH and B, except for the Ice Cream. In hind sight, i'm going to say that anywhere that calls pulled pork "BBQ" is probably where you want to eat if you like Eastern Style.[Edited on July 16, 2008 at 8:30 PM. Reason : .]
7/16/2008 8:28:26 PM
I almost picked up a tub of Lancasters at Food Lion, then I red the side. 130% of your daily value of sodium in 1/4 of the tub. I love BBQ it just = death.
7/16/2008 8:46:24 PM

7/16/2008 8:57:07 PM
