Anyone ever used one of these?
I am thinking about getting a few at work for field work (research and studies, interviews, etc) and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on them.
I've seen the quality they put out, which isn't that bad, and I know they dont have image stabilisation, but i'm wondering about overall quality (fit & finish as well).
Are these things pieces of shit that will break if you look at them wrong, or are prone to repeated failures at the most inopportune times?
Every review I've seen highlights all of the things that I did, but of course they're all consumer reviews and generally consumers are happy if you give them a turd with a chrome finiish and a blinking blue light, as long as it's sub $200.
holler back if you can help plz 7/18/2008 12:39:15 PM |

Against my better judgement and against Tyler's advice, i went ahead and bought an A-HD unit for my own personal use.
Video quality is actually not bad at all. Item build quality is sort of questionable, but I'll give it a few weeks before I pass final judgement on it.
Maybe Aiptek has stepped their game up. Hopefully, at least. 7/20/2008 10:47:23 PM |

I have one for personal use. Cheap, effective and makes it easy to turn into a dvd.
As long as you're using it in daylight, it's great. No moving parts. I've had my kid drop it and it still works perfectly.
That's what I was looking for. 7/21/2008 1:07:37 AM |
