My dad is getting a new truck, for work. They are paying him 750 a month for it, which is pretty damn good. We have owned 2 chevy suburbans and he is sold on owning yet another chevy.
This is what he is looking at.
Chevy 4 door duramax diesel HD
Fuel is not an issue. He has to have it for work (directional oil drilling). It has to be full cab 4 door, heavy duty, and with a towing package.
Is this the best buy compared to Toyota or Ford or Dodge. Would this be the best choice? Which ones hold out better?
Thanks guys as always.

i'm quite fond of the dmax myself and it comes linked to the best auto transmission on the market. the dmax does have the highest hp/tq. ratings and is returning the most mpg. i'm averaging 21 in the city on mine but on highway i'm only getting around 18 but that's due to my high speed (~80). however, i'm also fond of the new tundra even though the early ones had camshaft issues which Toyota made good on and i'm now hearing possibilities of transmission issues but i think that's due to hard driving. 7/24/2008 11:24:42 AM |

well, we all know time stood still around the 2nd gen 12 valve cummins trucks, but for a new truck i'd buy a dmax in a heartbeat 7/24/2008 11:36:58 AM |
