so, do you run FAH on that? 7/24/2008 6:17:34 PM |
evan All American 27701 Posts user info edit post |
nosir i currently don't as we just got this box in today (stupid HP sent the whole thing as SEPERATE COMPONENTS... so i spent half of today putting the cpus and ram in the processor cards and installing the raid controllers and whatnot)
however i'll probably put the smp client on there at some point, i'll probably only let it run at night though, this box is part of our vmware farm so we need all the cpu cycles during the day
32 cores... woooo 7/24/2008 6:19:24 PM |

yeah, might as well run it at night..

im not going to waste time taking a picture because it is a remotely located cluster and i dont have those nifty cards where i can see what is happening on boot
it is a academic cluster at tech for the nuclear dept 7/27/2008 8:42:03 PM |

I'd tell you about GE's cluster but they'd probably sue me. Just know that each individual node in the cluster puts that Proliant to shame. (And each one has more RAM than I have hard drive space)

i could understand this thread if it was based on personal computers, but basing it on work computers is just absolutely retarded as it has nothing to do with you and everything to how big your company is (or what their industry is)
but i can never resist a good competition, so a bit off-topic here, i just scored 16,693 on 3dmark06 yesterday with my E8400/9800GX2 probably the best i've seen from a dual-core setup. it's just a very mild overclock as well... could go higher.

agreed. how can you have e-peen contests over equipment that isnt yours? even if you deal with it... Thats like starting an e-peen thread because you spot for the guy that bench presses 350 at your local gym or something.
