7/26/2008 7:53:59 AM
Oh yeah...you won't have to repurchase them. I'm sure there are several ways to do it...but I usually just drag them and drop them into my itunes.
7/26/2008 8:11:35 AM
yeah, between my wife and me, we have 5 ipods, and i don't think either of us have ever purchased a song through itunes.
7/26/2008 8:15:15 AM
yea i just saw thati searched "import mp3s to itunes" and it says it will convert the mp3 to whatever format the ipod needs
7/26/2008 8:15:19 AM

I love the Ipod touch, i just ordered mine last week and it should be coming in today! I got if for $200 on apple's website refurbished. And yes you can input your old itunes songs on the touch.
7/26/2008 8:40:41 AM
right now i only have about 4 gb of songs i would want to put on oneif i got one i might go with the 16 gb
7/26/2008 8:43:16 AM
without reading this thread10/10 for actually calling it by its correct name.
7/26/2008 9:02:38 AM
Yes it's worth it. I don't know how many times I've needed to check the web for something and it's so handy for it to be there. The web browsing is very functional, the google maps is helpful, I use notes a lot for things I can't remember. There's a customizable homescreen which is pretty nifty because you can add sites like TWW etc. The only drawback is the battery life drains really fast with WiFi on. But other than that I'd say I get 20-24 hours of just music play time without having to charge the thing. Which is really nice.Anyways- I got a pretty good deal on mine (8gb) and love it. However if you only need it to play music then I'd say get a nano or one of the older ones. Just my opinion.Oh and one of the annoying things is there is no way to change volume without navigation to the now playing screen. They should included a wheel or something on the outside to change volume.[Edited on July 26, 2008 at 9:46 AM. Reason : volume]

well id like the wifi part too, but at work, we dont have wifibut i do hate running upstairs at home to my computer when i forget to bring the laptop downi guess there are more wifi hotspots these days though
7/26/2008 10:02:47 AM
the battery life is like literally 10 times longer if you set the damn screen to the least bright settingeven if you are using the wifiipod touch is a damn good device i must say[Edited on July 26, 2008 at 10:22 AM. Reason : m]

my primary motivation for wanting an ipod in general is to use at work, because i only get country music radio stations in my office so ill be needing to get a speaker thing too but i can get a cheap one of those online somewherebut i always need the best version of something, expensive bad habit :-/
7/26/2008 10:34:13 AM
I'm usually that way too...but I easily have over 8gbs of music and will probably get over 16gb in a year or two. And the 16gb is so fucking expensive, and you can get an 80gb "classic" for basically half the price (wish they still made 40gb is the classic gen).So I folded and got the 80gb. I've got a blackberry for internet purposes...so the ipod touch didn't appeal to me in that sense.

7/26/2008 10:56:39 AM
I <3 my 8gb Ipod TouchI got the upgrade to the Iphone software for $9.95 and it is awesome. Pandora Radio is one of my favorite applications. You type in an artist and it creates a playlist with that artist and artists like it.
7/26/2008 11:29:45 AM
^ Sounds quite similiar to the original Pandora. I heard AOL radio is a good app as well- I'm just too cheap to shell out the $10 to get the app store right now.
7/26/2008 11:39:43 AM
winpwn
7/26/2008 11:47:01 AM
I have UrbanSpoon, Pandora radio, AIM, Facebook, Myspace, Eventful, Tap Tap Revenge, and AOL Radio as my applicationsall free (after paying for app store)
7/26/2008 11:48:15 AM
i have the 32gb...love it.
7/26/2008 11:49:58 AM
the people that love itexplain your environment and where you use it most often
7/26/2008 11:51:55 AM
^^ Thought you were thinking of getting an iPhone?I bring it to work with me. I use it in the car, at work, when I got panera for lunch. I can surf or listen to music or do pretty much everything with a device that fits in my pocket.Really it's terrific.[Edited on July 26, 2008 at 11:53 AM. Reason : 6]
7/26/2008 11:52:05 AM
I use it in the car when I am lost or trying to find the nearest Target, Starbucks etcI use it at work. Play pandora radio through my speakers. And one of the applications I have is called Urban Spoon. It uses your current location and finds restaurants near you that are specific to your requests. Like Chinese in North Raleigh for less than $10 a person.I got this thing at BJ's called TuneBase FM (made by Belkin). Best FM tuner for Ipod that Ive ever used. [Edited on July 26, 2008 at 11:59 AM. 7/26/2008 12:03:33 PM
i have a tomtom so the maps thing isn't appealingand i dont have wifi at work, just a lousy AM/FM radio that only picks up country stations, while the guy 20 feet down the hall can somehow pick up the perfect rock stationlooks like i should just get a regular iPod...but i wont be 1/3 as excited
7/26/2008 12:12:17 PM
meh get what you want
7/26/2008 12:14:12 PM

7/26/2008 12:32:44 PM
i would love to find a decently priced speaker/docking station for itbut they appear to be $90+

I generally try to stay away from refurbished products, but then again I really want an ipod touch. Does apple do a good job of refurbishing their products?
7/26/2008 1:51:54 PM
just got back...with a product....and im a DOUCHEbag
7/26/2008 4:07:21 PM
what'd you get?
7/26/2008 4:07:36 PM
lets just say Best Buy's decision to put on display the Touch and not the Classic made Circuit City more money by Circuit City only putting on display the Classic

7/26/2008 4:31:12 PM
You bought an iPod on credit, i.e. you don't have the money to just buy it, i.e. you effectively took out a loan to buy an iPod?[Edited on July 26, 2008 at 4:44 PM. Reason : ]
