I want to factor a fourth degree polynomial with variable coefficients.

My polynomial is [r^4, r^3, r^2, r, 1] * [1, -2w, -w^2, (2/7)w^3, (-1/7)w^4]^t (written as vectors)

It doesn't matter if I'm finding the roots for r or w, either one will do.

I'd like to know how to do this by hand without using maple, if possible.
