How does one guy with a knife have enough time to stab someone 50-60 times and then saw their head off and not one of these people has it together enough to think of some way to stop him. I mean, I know he has a knife and all, but can you at least throw something at the fucking guy?

Pussies...

Clearly they need more knife control laws in Canada.

^^ I'll admit it's slightly unclear, but the people left the bus, including the driver, when the guy started the stabbing.

The driver later returned with another guy, and then he chased them out of the bus.

Well, everyone else on the bus, including the driver, was unarmed.

I am curious how the driver disabled the bus from the outside. Is there an emergecy fuel-pump cutoff or something? Such might be useful later on...

That said, if the guy was contained with his victim, which was probably fatal too soon in the attack to have been helped, then doing anything but waiting for the police would suffice. However, that is only because the attacker gave up. If he instead broke a window and started chasing people through the street then his deathtoll could have been higher.

But nothing, even arming the victim with a gun, would have saved the life of the victim.

When I read about this in the Chit Chat thread, I was just wondering when a libertarian or gun rights advocate would come in here proclaiming that this would fix the problem OR that since no one did anything they were all pussies.

They are on a bus for gods sake, do you think a cell phone to the dome of maniac thrashing his seatmate is really going to get him to stop? You better hope whatever blow you deliver to the guy in your hero attempt incapacitates him, or else you're going to be victim #2.

Fire extinguisher to the head would have stopped him.

this is why you keep the death penalty around.

Yes, because that guy would obviously be deterred by the death penalty.

I know it would make me feel better.

I hate seeing remorseless murderers on TV decades after their convictions.

who said that I thought it would deter him.

I mean that he deserves to fucking die, painfully, for what he did.

No, Canada is just naturally a terrible place. I lived there for two years and only Quebec had anything to offer.

I would have ran too. Unless I had a bigger weapon. Sad for the kid. Sad for this world.

I don't recall ever seeing a murderer on TV that had no remorse, not that I even see many murderers on TV in general

thats a big shit eating grin, if i ever saw one.

...

on first read, i feel like the people on the bus were pussies, but after consideration... everyone was suprised, shocked out of their sleeping or dozing state, the dude was in the back and had a huge rambo hunting knife and was using it quite expertly and viciously.

no one on the bus had a similar weapon, nor (i imagine) martial arts training to approach him head on and disarm him without getting their own throat slashed for their effort.

i'm afraid i would have had to run, too

The North Pole could be looked at as the "good part" of canada now.
