I got this camera less than a year ago and I love it. The only reason I am selling it is because my father in law is getting a Nikon D700 and he wants to sell me his D200.

Everything works perfectly. The camera sensor has never been touched. The camera probably has a shutter count of about 2000. The body has one very small scratch on the back, but other than that it looks brand new. Everything else looks brand new. This is a great first SLR camera. Very light, very easy to use. I will be happy to give the buyer a quick run through of the basics.

Adding all the equipment up (new) it comes to around $950-$1000. I am asking $800.

You can get a brand new Rebel kit (with lens) for under $400. The next lens is $80 new, and the next lens after that is $150. You can get the battery grip from radio shack for $70. Thats only $700. Brand new.

Sorry, but the price is too close to what you can get everything for new, and way too much if you wait for the right deals online. Not worth more than $700, and you really need to post it on craigslist if you even want to get that. IMHO.

First of all, the websites with a Rebel XT w/ Lens for "under $400" are either bait and switch sites or they ship you the Japanese version of the camera. Trust me I know lots of people from camera forums that have gotten screwed by these websites. Any reputable dealer sells the Body and Kit Lens for around 500.


Here is everything broken down (brand new):

Body and Kit Lens: 500
50mm 1.8 Lens: 80
70-300 mm Lens: 150
Grip: 70
Extra battery 40
2 GB CF Card: 20
Wireless Remote: 20
Polarizer Filter: 15
UV FIlter: 15
Camera Bag: 30

This comes out to 940. I said around 1000 brand new because if you buy these things online, you pay shipping, if you buy them in a store, you pay higher prices as well as taxes. So 800 if not at all unreasonable, considering everything is practically brand new.

not to be rude, but you would do better splitting it up.. not as many people are interested in dropping 800+ at once, but smaller pieces would sell easier
(unless there was a big discount for buying all items)
