Was featured on the food network and rated one of the top 3 fried chicken places in the US. Just went there the other day. I'm thinking about lunch right now and it was delicious. Anyone been there?

My boss sent me there when I was 16 or so to get food for the office, he said...

"go down west but right before you get to south take a left. stop when you see a riot."

I used to pass that place all the time when I was going to eat at Phat Burrito back in 2005. The place was ALWAYS packed every time I saw it. Phat Burrito is like right across the street from it, and it beats the hell out of anything like Moe's, Qdoba, or whatever.

^^^ Mac's has some great BBQ.

Also, Bedder Bedder & Moore on South Tryon. "Best Lunch in Charlotte."

I live about 1/2 a mile from Price's and still have yet to go there - oh yes, rly.

I've been to Phat Burrito, though - that place makes me drool.

Still have yet to go to Mac's, as well.

(I recently moved and I travel a lot, so I'm never really home).

<3 Ru San's right behind my neighborhood, though. I'm there about once a week when I'm in town.

Penguin rocks, and the place across the street (The Spot? Dish? Not sure what it's called as I've only been there once) has AMAZING friend green tomatoes and a killer meatloaf.

Ru San's is awesome. I got something there called the "Japanese Dive Bomb Roll" and it looked like an explosion of flavor.

I like Rusan's fried rice and thier lunch buffet is hard to beat. But if you want quality sushi in Charlotte go to Taiyo out near the university. Best pan-asian place in town. Makes rusans look like harris teeter sushi.

we're having price's for lunch thursday with a group of people from the office.

i haven't tried this Ru San's place you speak of, i would like to try it.

best sushi i've had in charlotte was at Nikko Sushi in Ballantyne. I know that's not the original location, but it's the one i went to and it was AMAZING. it was pouring rain outside, and there was only one other table sat besides us, so that might be why the staff was so attentive, and our food came out fast, and was perfectly made and delicious. or maybe it was so awesome because i drank half a bottle of saki, whatever the reason, i will be going back.

Nikko is alright, but still tastes like Harris Teeter sushi compared to Taiyo. Should check it out. Now i'm hungry.

-Not that i don't like harris teeter sushi, it's just Nikko is unpar with every other "nice" sushi place. It's good but easy to come by. The chef's at Taiyo will make anything you ask for, and thier Nigiri and Maki menu is massive. Plus they have a ton of entrees as guides but you can pretty much order anything you can think of and they'll make it. Plus they have a great bar and good drink specials.

harris teeter sushi will calm my cravings for sushi if i can't go anywhere else, but i wouldn't put it in the same category as nikko. sure, it might not be as good as your favorite place, but i'm not a sushi connoisseur, so to me it's awesome and i will most likely still go there since it's only a two minute drive from my house

i would like to try taiyo, but i'm almost positive i will be extremely overwhelmed, and since i don't know that much about sushi, it will probably seem about the same to me.. but who knows. maybe i can convince dave to go this weekend when he comes to town.

damn! that place is all the way in university?!

lol you live in Ballantyne. That's just as far out as the University. Although i guess it does take me the same amount of time to get to the Ballantyne area as it does the University area.

The Nikko Sushi on South Blvd is bizarre. It's like a night club that serves sushi. There's some crazy stripper-dressed Asian woman going around in a boa pouring sake in peoples mouths, it's really dark, and music is really loud. Not my scene.

I always pass Nikko's on my way uptown and have never stopped in.... heard it's good though.

i've not yet been able to find a good indian place in Charlotte. Copper has been mentioned and Situl has been, as well - but I've yet to hear consistently rave reviews about either of them - it's usually more like 50/50

I'll be stopping at Price's when I return to the city next week, hopefully!
