Interesting story in this weekend's NYT Magazine. Its like 7 pages long so if you're in the mood check it out.
I find the story a curious back story and current state of affairs to the world of internet expression, the blogs and message boards. Many people share the same idea of trolls, as if they magically disappeared the these opinion outlets would be rather enjoyable. But what does trolling say about some part of our society's mental state for some that enjoy it?

I feel like there have probably been trolls since the beginning of mankind in one form or another.

I remember reading an article where one woman who was a bitch over the internet was pretty cool in real life. Same thing has been said for a couple of twwers. Also:

I read that story a few days ago, and it really is a very well written and interesting article.
I'm a little skeptical though, some of the events strike me as a bit far fetched, and considering the topic, I have some doubts.
But, some of the observations are astute. I disagree though about the laws that came from that myspace case. That women absolutely deserved prosecution, and the laws shouldn't be struck down because sometimes it's hard to find the source of a statement. That's what the legal system is for.

Some people are just pricks, but the Internet brings a whole new dimension to the prick-dom, that hasn't existed before.
