i know that im gay because i have a cat so no need to get into that. i love cock! also, skip to the last line for a summary to avoid wordsso i have a cat named PEPE. quick background: there was a cat that roamed the neighborhood... i went and got a bag of cat food and kept it out back in the storage room on the patio, and i would leave food out for him. then the neighborhood association newsletter thing came out and it was like OMG FERAL CATS CALL 911 IF U SEE THEM. so, as lots of you know, i'm a sucker for a stray cat. so i decided i would adopt pepe. this was quite some time ago, and pepe has been great for over a year. but since it started getting hot and humid, he has this "hot spot" between his shoulders up by his neck. its a little red sore that won't heal.pepe does not go outside, i have been cleaning it daily with peroxide and then applying neosporin for 2 weeks now. but he ALWAYS licks it off and makes it start up again. so i bought an E-collar for him (that funny cone shaped thing). and he can bust out of it (hilarious btw). anyway, i got him an appointment with his vet on friday, but i'm about to go take that e-collar back and im just gonna trade it for store credit.one person says they know a groomer and forwarded me an email that says to buy SULFODENE (http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3051157) shampoo or something. i just wanna try something that he won't lick off. i'm sure the vet can do something, i just want him to not itch or bleed till then. i'll obviously ask the people at banfield over there, but i know there are lots of animal ppl on here so i figure it wouldnt hurt to ask real quickso theres the story and what ive tried. what would you guys buy to put on a cats hot spot that would a) not get licked off, and b) make him stop itching so bad

jackleg: (YES I REALIZE THATS PROBABLY WHY A HEDGEHOG LIVES IN MY WALL). anyway i named 2. SAM and PEPE. they are bad motherfuckers and i think they could kill the animal if they could find it (if it turns out to be sam or pepe in the wall i will cry)

it's okay jackleg, i love cats (and the cock) too

if the e-collar doesn't work i'm not sure what else you can do
8/6/2008 10:40:14 AM
does he have any plans once he's done?
8/6/2008 10:40:42 AM
evan: im gonna get him some of dat 190% antibiotic cream from the vet and once i have that i will hold him until it soaks in or something, im guessing the vet will have some ideas. thinking about picking up some bactine or whatever its called, basically something in a spray form so i can hit him every time i see him ive been using neosporin but i dont think that numbs it... so im gonna get SOME TYPE of cat friendly medicine to give him some relief, and let the vet deal with the healing (and putting an e-collar on him!)

What kind of food do you feed the cat? My mom's dog has the same problem, mostly in the summer. After many trips to vet, and every cream/pill available, they figured out that it was a food allergy to the fillers (corn, soy, wheat) in pet foods. The better brands of pet food have less fillers then than the cheapo store brands. It's cleared up for the most part, but she still has the occasional outbreak.PS-dudes with cats are awesome. don't take any shit from these tww homos.

^That's why I asked if it had any other skin problems. All of a sudden, my cat started licking off large patches of her fur and constantly scratching open sores....Turns out she was allergic to a shampoo I'd switched to.
8/6/2008 11:40:30 AM
^^^that is really annoyingit could be an allergic reaction or an injury, so i'd wait until you see the vet before trying to treat it more. the stuff you're putting on the cat could be aggravating whatever is wrong with it[Edited on August 6, 2008 at 11:42 AM. Reason : lk]

i've used this stuff called Quick Heal on dogs. my mom swears by it for horses. i've even used it on myself . it's good stuff. i couldn't find it online, but it's in a spray bottle. might try contacting a tack shop or something. OH WAIT, maybe the place where you keep your horse would know about it.i've also used NuStock on dogs that had skin irritations. it's a lotion, but you have to wear rubber gloves when you put it on and they're not supposed to lick it. it works wonders for me though.http://www.nustock.com/[Edited on August 6, 2008 at 1:21 PM. My cat got out last weekend. Came home with some cuts. Now those are starting to heal, and she's picking them. I accidentally got some of the bitter spray in my mouth and OH MY GOD I think she's going to leave her scabs alone
