Parents need to put up their dog for about 5 days. Whats some of the better kennels in North Raleigh? 8/10/2008 10:25:47 PM |

I used to work at both Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital and Shady Grove. Our dog always like Shady Grove because you have an indoor/outdoor run. vs most kennels where you are inside the entire time switched between a regular cage and a run (that is how it was at bayleaf). then again Shady Grove is strictly a kennel not a vet but we boarded our dog there until she was really old and then switched her to bayleaf (just incase she needed any vet care while we were gone)
we also boarded at armadale.
Bayleaf - off Six Forks past 540 Shady Grove - out old Leesville Rd. (i would try here if it is a bigger dog because of the size of the runs) Armadale - off Strickland

OH I guess Shady Grove changed its name to Best Friends Pet Care. Been awhile since we had a dog.

VIPet Resort, not in N. Raleigh persay but off Millbrook Rd. My dogs LOVED it there. Great prices, great people, they provide lots of interaction with the dogs (boarding place at my old vet required you to pay for play time) and they do grooming as well. 8/11/2008 8:32:20 AM |

not N. Raleigh, but I just took my dog to Pupsi (in Cary, but barely) and nothing but good things to report so far.
my friend has boarded his dog there and also had a positive experience.

^ be careful with Pupsi.
We thought it was a great place too, and it might have been when we first started using it about 2 years ago, but I think they have hired in more help (that don't have a clue how to properly handle dogs) and the owners are there less often.
We actually had our dog break his leg there because they put him (a 10lb dog) in with much bigger dogs and left him unsupervised (they supposedly never leave dogs unsupervised and always keep them in with like-sized/temperament dogs).
Granted, they did pay for the surgery to fix his leg, but we still had issues with them even through that process. 8/11/2008 9:46:27 AM |

we've taken both our dogs to pupsi for several years.
never had a single issue.
just judging by how excited they get when i pull in the parking lot, it's pretty clear that they enjoy it. 8/11/2008 2:59:25 PM |
