Well if you factor in Yao having 1 billion people anticipating his first game then you might have to give the nod to Yao, but yeah LeBron was much more hyped here in America.

Yao Ming was the best player to ever come from a country of 1.3 billion.
LeBron was from Ohio. 8/11/2008 8:23:15 PM |

yao wasn't hype like lebron
yao was a big question mark as to whether he could dominate in the nba as much as he did in china
lebron was crowned king and the best player in the world by his junior year of high school 8/11/2008 11:02:33 PM |

If you think James had more pressure on him than Yao entering the NBA, you're either retarded or you've never heard of China. 8/11/2008 11:16:28 PM |

i think the point is Lebron had way more pressure within the USA, but Yao had way more in china some of yall are just thinking of what you saw and heard you probably didnt see any of the stuff going on in china so you can understand the pressure he was under 8/11/2008 11:22:28 PM |

There was more hype for Yao in China than there was for LeBron in the US. LeBron was the biggest thing to come out of high school in a long time, but he wasn't that much more hyped than every other player tagged as the "next Jordan".8/11/2008 11:38:07 PM |

so, did he get injured? was that his last game in the olympics?
I don't follow basketball that much in the olympics...I know USA beat China, is it single elimination? 8/12/2008 1:22:54 AM |
