I cannot stand people who eat microwave popcorn out of the bag when I'm trying to watch a movie/game/show etc.

That rustling sound they make every time they reach in drives me insane

People who know me exploit this

I will never eat microwave popcorn again.

Started doing stovetop a couple months ago and it makes microwave popcorn taste like cardboard. Pretty easy too...only negative being a very small clean-up. But I think that's easily worth it for the savings in costs and much better taste.

I microwave it according to the directions, shake it well in the bag, and then eat it.

whirley pop with a couple drops of sunflower oil. Spray with olive oil and dust with salt. Yumm.

Although I would like a better way to get the salt to stick to the popcorn.

This. You gotta find a good bowl with the proper base to size ratio but it works great and as long as you shake it properly nothing ever get's burned.

I do stove top. Just use a pot and pour in canola oil to just coat the bottom of the pot (don't use too much!). Add a kernel or two to the pot and cover. Then turn the eye to HIGH and wait till you hear those 1 or 2 kernels pop. Then add the rest of the kernels to completely cover the bottom of the pot. I shake it a couple of times as it pops. Keep at it until the popping sounds begins to slow. Then just take it off the stove and pour it in whatever bowl you wanna use. Add whatever seasonings you want and go to town!

I'll take a jumbo popcorn, a mega diet coke, and the king size reese's.
That will be $62.50.

Last time someone around me made popcorn on the stovetop, the apartment almost burned down.

Good times, eh Beckers?

I can. I've been told that movie theaters use coconut oil. Not sure if that's true, but it smells just like a movie theater. And if you use Flavacol it tastes just like it too.

My wife doesn't like it when I use coconut oil to make popcorn, so when I hear that movie theatres use it, I'm a little more skeptical about it.

I used to use an air popper but found out that popcorn sucks that way and spraying it down with oil after the fact to try and get some salt to stick on the thing doesn't work for me.

I usually use a mix of coconut and canola/veg oil and use the stovetop. Does make better popcorn than what comes out of the microwave. I salt the popcorn mid-pop and shake it around and it distributes pretty well. Just the other day, I decided to top off with melted butter. When I'm feeling particularly unhealthy, I'll go the butter route moving forward.
