I'm in the mood to play something like Diablo 2, but not Diablo 2. Any recommendations? 8/20/2008 1:41:40 PM |

Titan Quest and its expansion, Immortal Throne. Eight classes, characters can mix two of them or be "pure," item mechanics are similar to DII, basically it was billed as DII's successor when it was released.
Wanna buy mine? 8/20/2008 1:44:50 PM |

I've heard dungeon runners is kinda like diablo II.
Plus it's free. Or you can buy it for like $20 bucks which makes you a member for 6 months and you get extra stuff. 8/20/2008 1:48:31 PM |

Sacred Gold. It's just Sacred with the expansion (Sacred Underworld) at a later patch level. It's similar to Diablo, but different in enough ways to be interesting for a while.
Sacred 2 is coming out sometime soon.
Restricted Area - this is another Diablo clone, but just as a heads up, it's terrible. There are a grand total of about three different types of backgrounds with about three different types of missions. All the skills just boost attack speed, hit points, etc.

Did Sacred Gold fix the problems with the original Sacred? That was one buggy-ass game. Me and some friends were going through the game in multiplayer, and there was some point (it's been so long that I forget) that we absolutely could not get past because of a software bug. Pretty ridiculous after paying $30 or however much for the game. The gameplay was pretty good if you could get past all the bugs though... 8/21/2008 2:09:30 AM |

Yes, Sacred Gold was just a combination of Sacred, the Underworld expansion, and what they called Sacred Plus, which was just a Sacred patch. I'm guessing that Sacred Gold is Sacred patched to somewhere just after version 1.7.
What bugs did you see? Crash to the desktop, or some bug that prevented you from doing one of the story related quests?
It's been several years since I played Sacred, but I don't remember there being many bugs. I did patch it before I started my first game though. I think someone connected on a LAN game crashed out once, but other than that it was fine.
Apparently the game is at patch level 2.28 now. 2.28 came out two years after Sacred Gold, so I can only imagine that most all of the few bugs that I saw have been taken care of.

^it was pretty fun, until I got to the final boss and the game kept crashing. Went looking for a patch, but it was one of those where the saved game files wouldnt work with the new patch, so I just stopped playing. 8/22/2008 12:05:40 PM |

yea dungeon siege is a bit more open ended than D2, you can be hybrid classes etc, no exact class required, but the game play is the same, tons of loot, hack n slash game play, loads of monsters and bosses...all the levels at least are unique...the final giant clock level is pretty cool....of course this was back in 2003 when i played DS:LoA....haven't play DS2 though....google some gameplay videos of each of the games recommended 8/22/2008 6:21:27 PM |
