So, you know when you download a file with an extension for which you don't have the program to run it, a little white icon shows up in place of what should be there. Its a page with an earmarked corner and the picture of what looks like an open window (like a webbrowser or folder).
Well, I've got those all over my computer. They are all supposed to be images...either jpegs, tiffs, or photoshop documents. They USED to show a little mini image as the icon but not anymore. I haven't done anything, so I'm not sure why they aren't showing up properly.
Any ideas?
All the other icons (for programs, pdf files, etc) are as they should be. 8/23/2008 5:51:00 PM |

google said to delete the cache, that it would re-create itself.
so I deleted it and restarted.
unfortunately that didn't fix the problem
when I click on the icon it loads the picture as normal...its just that I don't have any preview of it and its driving me crazy.
and google isn't helping.
I run XP btw

have you tried going into the folder properties and selecting thumbnails and applying them to all folders?

they show properly in the folders but only if I select thumbnails. The problem is on the desktop. 8/24/2008 8:07:23 AM |
