8/24/2008 1:49:35 AM
that's called alcoholism
8/24/2008 1:51:50 AM
No shit.
8/24/2008 1:59:09 AM
I yelled it from my balcony at Campus Edge.I doubt it did any good :/
8/24/2008 2:24:01 AM

8/24/2008 2:25:35 AM
HOW ABOUT::TELL YOUR FRIENDS to not FUCKING DRIVE when they are DRUNK
8/24/2008 2:29:37 AM
you CAN get a dui WITHOUT being DRUNK
8/24/2008 2:34:20 AM
Sometimes you're too drunk to stand so you have to sit down and drive home
8/24/2008 2:35:25 AM
yes you can.... its a bad idea to drive after drinking anyway though. thats why i walk everywhere.
8/24/2008 2:36:07 AM
well this came up because my underage friend had a few beers when we were out and he drove home and went through the check point. they checked his license and talked to him a bit and let him go on his way
8/24/2008 2:40:41 AM
your friend is lucky b/c he is an idiot
8/24/2008 3:15:00 AM
Hooray for the continuous erosion of the Constitution! It's okay though, I'm sure they'll protect a bunch of people from drivers with failed inspections and unbuckled seatbelts.
8/24/2008 3:17:27 AM
Uh yeah, drunk drivers behind bars is an infrigement on our rights.
8/24/2008 3:18:20 AM
8/24/2008 3:24:43 AM
Amen.
8/24/2008 3:28:57 AM
beer:30
8/24/2008 3:29:29 AM
well, i dont know about you NC folk, but SC has been going through a major DUI blitz the past week and a half.
8/24/2008 3:32:52 AM
you can get a DUI on a scooter, even a motorized beverage cooler...
8/24/2008 3:34:09 AM
8/24/2008 3:37:18 AM
^^ I think you can even get one for riding a non-powered bike too.
8/24/2008 4:07:13 AM
I would like to test that out and waste the court's valuable time and money.
8/24/2008 4:14:01 AM
8/24/2008 4:18:34 AM
^^It's been tested before. The only states where you'd tend to be safe from a DUI charge are states like CA that have a seperate statute dealing with intoxication and operation of a bicycle. In states that don't have seperate statutes, the courts tend to go with the reasoning that they extend the same rights and restrictions to people in human powered vehicles as motorized ones; that tends to mean they include DUI laws and stuff like that as covering bikes.
8/24/2008 4:21:10 AM
8/24/2008 4:30:37 AM
I wonder what's the reasoning behind that? DUI on a human powered device just seems like a bad idea anyhow, but the only one getting hurt is the one whose powering it...
8/24/2008 4:33:18 AM
wow i just went RIGHT through there and there was 2 cop cars on the edge. they didn't stop me or anything thouhg.
8/24/2008 5:32:55 AM
what time did you go through? They usually start the check points right before the bars close up and usually up till 3:30am.
8/24/2008 5:39:24 AM
like 10 minutes before i posed that
8/24/2008 5:58:30 AM
8/24/2008 6:05:37 AM
Anybody driving drunk should be caught IMO, they make life for me and everyone else that much more dangerous. On that note, I don't believe checkpoints are particularly constitutional and I hate them.So I am very torn on whether or not I like these threads. On the one hand, they help law abiding citizens like myself avoid dealing with the bullshit. On the other, they help drunken cocksuckers avoid getting caught.
8/24/2008 9:46:29 AM
^ I don't think most drunken cocksuckers check TWW for these threads before driving. I mean when you are in a bar have you ever heard a drunk person call somebody at home and have them check chit-chat before driving away intoxicated?
8/24/2008 10:12:12 AM
^^good thing nobody cares whether you like it or not
8/24/2008 11:24:29 AM
iwonder if you can walk though one
8/24/2008 11:30:13 AM
jaywalking?
8/24/2008 11:39:20 AM
8/24/2008 11:43:05 AM
8/24/2008 1:37:52 PM
8/25/2008 2:45:05 AM
Maybe if we made a DUI checkpoint thread for every road around campus people would just stop driving drunk.
8/25/2008 2:53:42 AM
DUIs on bicycles are STUPID.I have pissed off a cop by walking my bicycle home from the bar. All the way. He thought he was gonna be meeting his quota and instead wasted his time.
8/25/2008 3:04:06 AM
HAthat's crazya ton of my friends have dui's, and a lot that don't still drive drunk all the time
8/25/2008 3:05:13 AM
Uh oh We're in troubleSomething's come along and it's burst our bubble.
8/25/2008 3:08:35 AM
yeah yeah
8/25/2008 3:08:51 AM
most of my friends got DUI's underage, although if they were of age, they'd still be legal. Now, when will the talks of changing it back to 18 will happen?
