back story...

there is this guy named Chris...he's 37...i had the BIGGEST crush on him about 3 years ago...it spanned a few years but he lives in SC so I never thought much of it....his parents live in Siler City so he comes home to see them fairly often and we started to run into each other in various places and I had some dealings with him through work...

my best friend at the time became newly single and Chris fell for her hard...she was 23, had just gotten out of a 6 year relationship, and was after a good time...they dated for a month or so...he is loaded and offered her the world basically...and it was pretty tough of me but it's not like I ever had a real shot with him so I didn't hold it against her...or him

i haven't seen him since before she dumped him which was december '06....he did randomly call earlier this week to find out something about the fair for his boss...

also...i don't talk to her much anymore either....probably less than a dozen times in the last year...

anyway...i was just on the phone with her and i get a text from him saying "would you like to go out sometime?"


it took me a good 10 minutes to answer...i didn't even know what to answer....i still don't....

as bad as i had it for him a few years ago you would think i would jump at the chance....and he's such a great guy...but something is just weird knowing he chose her over me and now he's come back around and asking me out...even though it's been 2 years...
