Okay. I too need some tire help. I don't want to spend TOO much money (below $300 OTD price, mounted and everything), but would like a set that has at least better than average hydroplaning resistance, dry traction, and excellent tread wear. Tread wear is one of the key factors here, however, I don't want to lose too much traction because of it. The tire size I'm looking for specifically are 225/45/17. I only need to replace the rears, however when the time comes, it would be nice to replace the fronts (so having the size 195/50-16 available as well would be nice). I was thinking of the Kumho Ecsta MX (especially since a set of 2 will cost only $250 plus mounting...)

Thoughts/contributions?

I just installed the kumho ecsta spt, and have used them on a 400 horsepower 300zx twin turbo before. they are great tires for the price. I'd look into those if your looking for performance.

You should enjoy them, I'm not sure what car your putting them on, but the ecsta spt's have been great on my e36 m3 (supercharged) and worked great on that 300zx twin turbo, so you should be happy with them.
