That means there are deer around! (Well, depending on the tick.) I got something on the back of my legs that I have never seen before when goose hunting this past Saturday. It looks like chiggers almost just because there are so many spots in one area, but its not bubbles all together like poison ivy. Plus, I'm not allergic to it and have never had it in my life. Just really weird. I know one bite came up first and its a spider bite, I can see the 2 holes together.

my dad was treated for RMSF earlier in the summer from a bite just above his ankle

on a related note, when I worked for a surveyor, it wasn't unusual for me to find upwards of 10 or 20 ticks on me each night, depending on where I had worked that day.
