I am putting some railroad ties across my yard to hopefully keep the patio from get inundated with water like it did last time it poured rain. I am scared if water backs up there any worse than it has been recently it will get in the bottom of the hot tub and my back yard will look like July 4th right before the house burns down.

i have 2 shelves in my laundry room for hurricane/ice storm supplies and they are stocked pretty much year round. i rotate some canned goods out occasionally (when i'm too cheap or lazy to go to the store).

in total i have:
-7 gallons of water
-2 cases of bottled water
-6 cans of tomato soup
-2 cans of other chunky soup (chxn noodle, italian wedding)
-8 cans of various vegetables, mostly legumes
-several MREs
-extra batteries (D, C, AA, AAA, 9V)
-mini fire starter logs

other items i have that would be helpful, but aren't located in the emergency shelves:
-red cross emergency radio w/ weatherbands, tv bands, radio bands, light, cell phone charger, hand crank
-a couple of head lamps
-maglites and camp lanterns
-big gas grill w/ burner and full tank of gas
-chainsaws, axes, pulaski, etc
-canoe with paddles & lifevests

Fumbler made a huge pot of really yummy vegetable beef soup last night too. i also keep large quantities of dog and cat food, and cat litter, on hand too (2 dogs, 3 cats).

it sucked, I had 3 homeworks and a quiz on Thursday and had to work Today from 7-4 and was going to go out this weekend but there's a fucking Troppy coming. If it's clear by the game it will all be ok though.
