If I remember correctly, it's off in a residential neighborhood near 54. The paved road turns to gravel and then you come upon the castle. It's been a few years and I was pretty high, so the details might be fuzzy.

Its location is actually in the Wikipedia article. It's not really that big of a secret, it's just strange if you've never seen it before.

it is in my friends neighborhood. everyone has probably driven by the road before if you've been to chapel hill the exit 273A way (and cut over to franklin on country club whatever. it turns to the right).
