she had on an in-ear monitor... without sound coming through it it's like singing a song with no music. Try watching MTV and muting the sound and singing along. At the end see if you're still on time...

I'm not here to debate how ear monitors work....I'm simply saying that everyone else including the backup singers had ear pieces in as well....and regardless, I'm not necessarily saying SHE failed, I'm saying the PERFORMANCE failed.

I actually have to give Jessica props on that.

With no monitor, she pretty calmly restarted the song, and used the trail in of the background singers to give her the cues. It also eliminates any possibility of lip syncing, and I thought she did pretty damn well considering she probably couldn't hear anything through the whole song.
