i want to setup a way to monitor the home remotely when i am away....is this easy?how would I go about this and what would I need?hook up any webcam to some software route it to some ip address and keep the computer at home running? are there any free s/w?thanks!

the cameras that philihp reccomends are good. i like them b/c you can control them over the internet.firewire cameras are good, but expensive.

thanks yalllok i skimmed through these and most of them seem to be capturing motion detetected picturesis there one that does constant real time streaming?i haven't tried logmein yet but seems complicated and not free

^^Any form of remote desktop uses a virtual video driver to display the remote desktop. These usually can't support video. It maybe able to stream snap shots of the video but not streaming video. ^Yeah you want real-time streaming, not pictures.
