I just ordered a EVGA GTX260 off of newegg. What do I need to do to get it working software wise? I know that I need to run a driver cleaner and get rid of all of my previous drivers. 9/18/2008 7:56:05 AM |

I thought there would be more to it for some reason. I thought that I would need to reinstall directx, since I am running a DX9 card right now.
I guess that i don't even need to uninstall the drivers or run driver cleaner, since the GTX260 is running on 177.92's, the same ones that I have installed for my 7900GT.

correct you will not need new drivers.
just be sure you have the right power cables from your PSU as I think the 260 requires (2) PCI-E power cables 9/18/2008 12:17:05 PM |

yea, It needs 2 6-pins. I have 3 open 6-pins on my power supply.
Thank god for modular cabling.

^^ If you bought the card in a retail box from a major brand, then it probably has a 6-pin splitter in the box anyway. 9/18/2008 9:43:50 PM |
