that happened to me a couple months ago. over $800 later i was good to go.oh and just a word of advice, instead of paying a plumber to purchase and install the water heater like my fiance did, just go to lowes or home depot and buy one and have them install it. its cheaper.[Edited on September 18, 2008 at 3:27 PM. Ours did too. The top blew...a whole into the sheet rock and through to the floor above it. The hum of fans and dehumidfiers has been constant for 48 hours.
