VLC is skipping video a little when playing DVDs. Other than ripping and then playing, what can I do?

is it only with VLC? i doubt this is a problem related to only VLC - are you using the latest version?

probably not the latest version. Its been playing other dvds fine, just started today. I use this as a media PC.

genuis, that was the first thing I did. The results where lackluster at best.
