i want one really bad, does that count?

I could go for an '09 R/T, 6-speed in black... then add a supacharger

i like the 18" wheels and no spoiler better than the SRT8 exterior add-ons

i just found this

Quote :
"The six-speed Tremec TR-6060 manual transmission was derived from the 600 horsepower 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10, with triple cone synchronizers in first and second gears and dual cone synchronizers for third through sixth gears, along with modifications including new gear ratios. The clutch is the Viper’s (ZF-Sachs) 250 mm twin-disc design for torque capacity and clutch life, low pedal efforts, excellent engagement qualities and optimized spinning inertia; it features a 1-4 skip-shift and reverse inhibit solenoids, with a 5:1 remote shifter."

i'm planning to buy one eventually. i'm waiting to see what the final word is on a convertible model. i'm also still debating on to keep or sell my c5. that kinda determines which model challenger i'd want...

convertible? you want a Challenger that's even heavier? It's going to be at least 500 lbs heavier than your C5...

I'm thinking pretty hard about trading my Mazdurr6 in for one.

They're not that expensive at all.

But mine'd be an 09.

Honestly they're not that bad these days. I'd be willing to buy one (If I had the money and needed a car) as long as they'd throw in that (Supposedly) lifetime drivetrain warranty. I don't think they'll do it on SRT models, but I bet the R/T 6 speed would be covered.

i'm sure it's already sold. they probably just have an agreement with the owner to let it sit in the showroom for a little while to generate some leads. or, it may only be there just long enough to go through inspection/dealer prep and the owner will take immediate delivery after the final paperwork/financing/payment is completed. finally, it's possible that the owner actually took delivery at some point prior to today in order to enjoy it for a little while, but has returned it to allow it to be displayed for a while.

anyway, what i'm saying is it's highly unlikely they've simply just gotten one in stock as part of their regular inventory. of course, it's also just as unlikely that they'll admit that. they'll paint a picture of crowds beating down the doors first thing this morning trying to buy the car, but only one lucky person got it. however, everyone else that called or came in still decided to buy a brand new vehicle at unheard of low prices. they can do the same for you also! you better hurry though, because the base model caliber that's identical to twelve others on the lot might get sold too before you get there! it's just as good as the manual challenger sr8, but at half the price and double the mpg. don't tell anyone else about this, though. they're only giving you this secret info and special invoice pricing. they're such damn good people they don't even care about making money. they just want you to be happy and make it up to you for selling a car that you could never afford and were only pretending to be interested in so you could take it out for a joy ride.

^^Yea they tried that "we don't know when another comes in, we'll cut you a inside deal" shit on me when I went in to look at one a month ago. Fucking dealers...just another reason why domestic manuf. are going bankrupt.

They have quite a few Challengers at the dealership in Garner (Capital Chrysler Dodge Jeep)

We had to borrow one of their Town & Country-s for a study we ran 2 weeks back. I don't know if any of theirs are manuals, but they have at least one SRT8 and a quite a few R/Ts on the lot down there.

The guys at Hendrick are shitbirds. Their lot is literally 2 blocks away from our office and we offered them $800 to rent a T&C for a week, and they acted like they couldn't help us. Not like those things are flying off the lot. Capital bent over backwards to help us.

Country folk vs city folk I guess.

If you buy one there, plz to tell them I referred you. I'll give you half of the $100 fee. lulz

I got that spammail and figured I'd share it here. I never even requested to know anything about the Hendrick Dodge inventory ever, I just got it by accident (i suppose I'm still in their mailing list from working there ~3 years ago).

And yes, Hendrick are shitbirds.

no you ass

I was just saying, if someone's going to buy a Challenger, then why not get a free $50. My offer is legit because the main sales manager guy at Capital (BARRY DRIVER thx) has mine and my co-workers cards, and I figured for a small reward I could do him a solid in this economic crunch because he bailed us out in our time of need for a $100K+ research project.

And damn there's some hatoraid being passed around in here...no wonder they're going bankrupt

Wait, I know you sold your Evo. Didn't you get a 335i? Do you still have that, or did you trade that for a Mazda6?

lifetime of the company

which may mean it will be shorter than a standard japanese 3-year warrantee the way american car manufacturing stands these days financially

^^ yeah, i don't know what i was thinking. i had you confused with sandsanta.

and yeah, Evos are a fucking blast to drive, if you can tolerate their shithead dealers, 10k miles on a set of tires, 15k miles on a clutch, and interior that rattles like a spray can after 10k miles. I might buy another IX someday despite all of that.
