My wife and I am out of town visiting family and have noticed sores on our dog's chest. We are wondering if this is potentially serious and if we should try to see a vet here or wait a few days until we get back to Raleigh.

Here are a few photos. Please advise:

Thanks for your help

<not a vet student>
Do you use a harness to walk your dog and if so, does it pull you the whole time? could be irritation from that

It's not actively bleeding or an open sore, so I think you can wait a few days but I would definately still get it checked out.

It looks like it can wait a couple days. Good luck.

doesn't look life threatening. have you made any changes to your dog's diet recently? is the dog scratching it? how long did has it been there and has it changed in size rapidly?

We have not made any changes in diet

The sore appeared out of nowhere, we play with her everyday. But since we first saw it, it has not changed.
