anyone know of a good open source, web based FAQ that does not require mysql or posgres? sourceforge has given me a couple, but they look old school as hell. Also, don't want a full blown wiki, just a faq engine. PHP/perl/python based are all fine.faq-o-matic is decent, but was last updated in '04 and looks ghetto.

Tech Talk might be more helpful, or more likely they'll be mean and make fun of you. Good luck.

why would you not use a database? Are there other database options you have available?

^^ Create a MySQL table, preferably faqmasterflex, then copy and paste SQL from faqmasterflex.sql info with your favorite GUI SQL tool
