I'm a mechanical engineer with almost 6 years experience in mechanical design, systems design, project management, and mechanical maintenance. Looking for something in the triangle area, need to move back for personal reasons. Also Experienced in Solid works, and a host of other CAD systems.
Prefer a smallish company, but you know, open to most anything.
Anybody??? Please help 10/3/2008 8:25:08 AM |

I've looked at Progress, and sent in a few applications already. I've got design experience in Gas turbines with GE, so I'm hoping that might pan out pretty good. 10/5/2008 8:34:44 AM |

Haha, hey can I hijack this thread now? I need to start looking for a decent structural engineering position somewhere. I'd prefer to work at a consulting firm somewhere. <_< 10/5/2008 9:52:10 PM |

HondaJet is building their engine plant in Burlington (in partnership with GE) with final aircraft assembly in Greensboro. I'm not sure if they're hiring, but you may want to surf around their websites and those areas listings. I believe the listings are on the careers section for the first link I've provided below.
Seems right now that they're looking for a stress analysis guy at very least though I'm sure they'd be open to resumes in other areas. If you've worked turbines, do you have much background in aerospace?

All my turbine experience is with Power Generation. But the principles still transfer. The Hondajet thing looks cool, I'm going to dig a little deeper into that one. Thanks for the idea. 10/21/2008 7:57:37 AM |
