I think with all the low cost, high calorie food, weight loss will not be a prevalent problem with this depression.

ON ANIMAL PLANET TODAY THIS DUDE'S DOG GOT INTO THEIR RAT POISON (SRSLY) AND THEY DIDN'T REALIZE IT SOMEHOW. SO THEY TOOK IT IN AND THE DOCTOR DID A BLOOD TEST AFTER A REALLY LONG TIME OF DIAGNOSING AND HE WAS LIKE, "UM, YOUR DOG'S BLOOD IS FULL OF RAT POISON." THEN THE DOG DIED WITHIN LIKE 5 MINUTES.

THEY THEN RAN HOME BECAUSE THEIR OTHER DOG HAD VOMITED BEFORE THEY LEFT. I'M SURE IT ENDED UP BEING DEAD TOO.

THEY WERE CRYING LIKE CRAZY.

That's it??? We ate rice and sugar cubes growing up... seriously (immigrant parents who were poor and on small amounts of welfare). This depression stuff is going to be a cake walk for me.

i'm sure the biscuits were likely stale as fuck, and the water dirty as hell, and the molasses was rare, and used to sweeten anything it could. the 30s in the Carolinas = teh suck.

what kind of bullshit is this? Every relative I have in NC that was alive during the great depression said it was just a bunch of bullshit Yankees suffered through. Most people in NC never had to adjust anything different about the way they lived because they got everything from local farmers and loggers.
