The holidays are always my favorite time of the year, and this year I get to have my new baby twins to enjoy it with!

I was actually thinking about that, too. I want my friends to have babies so I can relive the magic.

I love it now, but having some kids would be awesome.

^^Take that up with Robert Earl Keen.

Ham, bitch, ham. Why would you want turkey again on Christmas?

Mix margaritas when the eggnog's gone

Don't worry, bridget, not everyone in this thread is a moron and completely missed the reference. Looks like only 2 of us though.

I get it but still, Thanksgiving is a great holiday for Cowboys and Lions fans and I can't even start to think about xmas (even the novelty songs) until December.

I don't get nearly as excited about Christmas as I used to when I was still in school. Sure I like the pretty decorations and music and chilly weather and getting presents, but I looked forward to time off school more than the holiday itself. Now that I'm a workin' stiff I get 3 days off. Woo-hoo.

I dread doing the routine shopping I do all year, because the places I go like Target get clusterfucked by all the asshats who didn't buy gifts online. Few things are more annoying than getting stuck behind some fat fuck moving slower than a stoned turtle with 4 screaming toddlers clinging to the cart or running in all directions nearly tripping me.

Curiously enough, I do like to go to Barnes & Noble at Christmas time; the sights and smells remind me of the shopping I did way back in high school.

It'd be nice if I could go just one season without setting foot in a retail establishment other than a grocery store or B&N, but it hasn't happened yet.

i like christmas but i LOVE thanksgiving. like, LOVE IT. here's why--first of all, its like christmas without the drama. just food. and football. and i'm ok with that. no decorations or gifts or things that add stress to my life. it is more laid back. second of all, i like the anticipation of christmas. the time from thanksgiving to christmas is my favorite time of the year. its all happy and fun and exciting. then christmas comes and its over and vacay is over and i'm angry.

and all i have to look forward to is new years WHICH is so overrated and has anyone in the history of america EVER had a good new years? no. its always get your hopes up and then have some drama unfold that brings you down (even if it isn't YOUR drama). or you drink too much and puke. or you puke from the drama. OR you drink too much and then puke from the drama.

oh and i never got to my third reason for loving thanksgiving: FOOD. turkey. stuffing. PIE? ROLLS? leftovers for days? YUMMMMMM. except if the turkey is dry. which luckily, i come from a family of champion cooks.

oh yea and i also like beer.

So far today, I've accomplished two things:

1. enjoyed a peppermint mocha
2. listened to Blue Christmas on repeat for an hour

I think I might watch Die Hard in a bit.

Anyway, I'm going to the Canes game tonight. They better have hot cocoa!

the worst thing about christmas day is having a day off work and school and not being able to go fishing because women think you should get together and eat and exchange gifts with folks

I must tell you, you're missing the point of the holiday.

And I'm not talking about it's religious significance either.
