Where in raleigh area can I get a turbo timer installed? Do shops usually carry them, or would I have to buy one online?
This is for a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3.
Thanks

phantasm motorsport has them in stock and can install them. although i'd recommend saving the money on one and put it towards something useful. it only takes around 30 seconds of idle time after normal driving and around 1 minute after hard driving for EGTs to cool down enough to prevent turbo bearing damage.

and if you're like most people, you are not much above idle in the last minute or two of most drives. i mean, pulling into your house, or in a parking lot somewhere, or whatever...you're usually pretty much idling.

yep. they're pretty much useless. the only time they'd help is if you're driving the shit out of it then turn the car off a few seconds later. like duke said, if you're anywhere near a typical driver, you're gonna be nearly idling around while getting a parking space or going through a parking lot before you park anyways..so at most you sit in the car another 30-60 seconds...and even that is overkill for the most part

Just about every OEM turbo is water cooled which makes turbo timers even more useless...
