We found this tabby cat out behind the pleasant valley shopping center by the dumsters. He is a beautiful tabby with a white chin and a little orange on the belly. A little skiddish at first, but is very chill once he gets to know you. He has a deep meow. I want to say that he is only maybe a year old, and we think that he is unfixed, but he won't really let us lift his tail and we haven't spent a whole lot of time with him. Between work and the three other animals I have in my apartment I am not going to be able to keep him. We have two more weeks before we have to move and he needs to find a home. I have posted him on wake.gov, with the spca, and on craigslist. I have called 6 no-kill animal shelters and they don't have any space. I am going to try to get a friend to take him to the vet on monday and scan him to see if he has a chip, but since my job is withholding money I can't take him to the vet for a check-up. If anyone can take him in or has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. 10/18/2008 4:50:37 PM |

you can get a chip way before when you'd get them fixed 10/18/2008 5:19:10 PM |

and?
i think you are missing the point...its most likely a stray...its a year old...they can get fixed at like 6 weeks hoss...if by chance its NOT a stray, and its NOT fixed, chances are its probably not got a chip either 10/18/2008 5:22:00 PM |

pretty sure its free to get animals scanned for chips...
might as well check
not everyone fixes their animals and i dont see where they specifically refer to the cat as a stray
they found it by a dumpster, where it was likely looking for food 10/18/2008 5:27:03 PM |

Banfield (the vet hospital in Petsmart) does clinic hours on I believe Thursday afternoons - free walk-in, just a basic diagnostic. So, that may be your best route if you're strapped for funds. I'd call first to confirm the day of the week and time.
They also have scanners there, so they could scan the little guy for a chip when you have him in. 10/18/2008 7:38:14 PM |
